Fabrizio Romano has shown that tonight’s Conference League final at Chelsea “may be the last game” especially for one player.
With Jadon Sancho’s loan spell from Manchester United trying to conclude, it is still unclear whether Bruce will exercise the clause to send him back to Old Trafford for a small fee.
Sky Sports reported on Tuesday that England International wanted to stay at Stamford Bridge, but despite previous reports that Chelsea already signed and signed him, his future is airing for the summer.
In an update on his YouTube channel, Romano said: “Chelsea vs Betis could be Jadon Sancho’s final game. Keep an eye on Jadon Sancho’s situation, as there are no guarantees about Chelsea’s situation at this time.
“Chelsea has not told Sancho anything about leaving or staying at the club. Today, Enzo Maresca publicly confirmed that no decision has been made.
“Chelsea can send players back for £5 million. This possibility remains a concrete possibility. After the final, Chelsea will inform players of their decision, but the possibility of seeing Jadon Sancho return to Manchester United is a concrete possibility.”
Will Chelsea maintain their faith in Sancho this summer?
Sancho enjoyed his time in West London and understood that he was giving his reputation at Old Trafford, so he was unfavourable in his infamous “freedom” comment to Marcus Rashford after the latter loan to Aston Villa. It’s much easier to see his 25-year-old future at Stamford Bridge than his parent club.
The forward has started everything except one of Chelsea’s knockout games in the conference league and was also selected for the final day Premier League crunch in Nottingham Forest on Sunday, so there’s a possibility that Enzo Maresca will include him in tonight’s Wroclaw’s start XI.
England International may have the rest of the designs of the Blues Player, but whether he is shown the same faith by the Stamford Bridge hierarchy is a different matter.
The return of just four goals from almost 2,400 minutes of match times this season has been overwhelming, and his continued link with former Man United teammate Alejandro Garnacho suggests the West London club is looking to revamp their forward line in the summer.
Sancho can help secure Chelsea’s future if he starred against Betis tonight
If Sancho stays at Chelsea for next season and confirms that his loan move from Old Trafford has become permanent, the conference league final will be the perfect time to make a decisive contribution to Maresca’s side.
If he gives him a performance that tilts the scale towards the Blues, which secures yet another European trophy, it could be quite difficult to simply send him to Manchester.
