The Los Angeles ‘ starting rotation made history in the NLCS vs. the Milwaukee Brewers, posting the lowest ERA in league championship history at 0.63.
Blake Snell started the NLCS with eight scoreless innings against the Brewers, allowing just one hit during his appearance. He had a great postseason run with the , giving up just two runs in 21 innings in three starts during the playoffs.
Yoshinobu Yamamoto started the second game and pitched a complete game, allowing only one run. Yamamoto bounced back from a tough start in the NLDS against the Philadelphia Phillies with a dominant performance, striking out seven batters and allowing only three hits.
Tyler Glasnow pitched in Game 3 and continued his strong postseason run with 5.2 scoreless innings at home, leading the 3-0 in the National League and setting the stage for Shohei Ohtani in Game 4. The runs Glasnow allowed in Game 3 are the only runs he has allowed in 13.2 innings this postseason.
Ohtani stole the show in Game 4, taking over the game on both sides of the ball. The superstar pitched six shutout innings, striking out 10 batters, going 3-for-3 with three hits and three home runs, winning the National League MVP award.
The ‘ rotation has been the most important part of their dominant postseason performance thus far, and will be well-rested heading into the World Series, which begins on Friday, October 24th. The were scheduled to face either the Seattle Mariners or the Toronto Blue Jays in the World Series, and had winning records against both teams during the regular season.
The Mariners and Blue Jays will resume play Sunday at 5:08 p.m. PT, and the Mariners have a chance to advance to the World Series for the first time in franchise history.
