Stephen Curry was limited to just three by the young Houston Rockets star.
The Golden State Warriors recently locked their horns at the Houston Rockets in a very important Western Conference contest.
After four-quarters, the Rockets left with a solid 106-96 victory over the Dub. The biggest reason behind the Warriors’ defeat was Stephen Curry’s terrible scoring night.
Defended primarily by Amen Thompson, Curry scored just three points while scoring one of the awful ones off the field.
As mentioned earlier, Thompson’s defense was the main reason behind the terrible performances from assassins who met the baby.
At the post-match meeting, Steph shared his honest views on Thompson.
“So he’s been there for over 30 minutes a night, because that’s how he helps him win. He’s merciless.
“He’s the best athlete, he’s just found his lane and how he can make an impact. You could tilt your hat on him, and he’s gotten so much better.
Given that Thompson is just 22 years old, the Rockets star is just scratching the surface of his true potential in the NBA.
Aside from winning a four-fold NBA champion, Thompson also earned 14 points, six rebounds and six assists.
When it’s all said and done, Curry will undoubtedly become one of the greatest players of all time, becoming the goat shooter in most fans’ eyes.
Curry is already 37 years old, but the Warriors star currently has no plans to retire from the NBA. However, scoring patterns for 2x NBA MVPs are beginning to form.
First of all, he averages 24.4 points per game. This is the lowest since the 2014-15 NBA season (except for the 2019-20 season, as he only played five games before getting injured).
On top of that, Curry has nine games since 2022 that have not been able to score more than 10 points in the contest. For comparison, his rival LeBron James only had eight games in 22 years.
While there is no doubt that Curry can still explode in a 50-point game on any night, there are clear indications that the Warriors star is slowing down at this stage of his career.
