Stephen A. and LeBron already have major beef this season. The ESPN star is currently denounced James and his “camp” and makes big claims about the NBA goat debate.
LeBron James’ season with the Los Angeles Lakers ended with disappointment. The first round playoff exit means that King has not been involved in playoff action for some time.
But even when he’s not playing, LeBron is in the spotlight. Michael Jordan’s agent David Falk recently took a shot at LBJ over the goat debate.
Many think MJ is the best ever, but others think it’s King James. Rich Paul made a statement after the fork take and brought in a receipt to explain why LeBron had a stronger case.
Stephen A. Smith is perhaps the loudest voice in the NBA debate. And he denounced James and his negative camp, putting him incredibly strong pressure.
It’s no secret that LBJ and SAS won’t look into their eyes anymore. But even before their feud, Smith claims he thinks MJ is an NBA goat.
Stephen A., who recently dealt with the issue on ESPN, went to the King and his supporters and issued a strong statement.
“What we have to understand, and what’s important about this conversation is, when we discuss goats, the negativity of it comes from LeBron and his camp,” Smith said.
“There’s no one else. When we say he’s second to date, we’re grateful for the thousands of players who have played in the NBA since 1950.
“Now, LeBron James, there’s only one player we’ve seen and clearly said what we think is better. That was Michael Jordan.”
It is a bit shocking to see Stephen A. addressing in this way, once the context is taken into consideration. The two had a well-known feud earlier this year.
After SAS commented on Bronnie James, LeBron had a hot exchange with him with the bystander during the Lakers game.
ESPN has since had a lot of interactions. James went out to Pat McCuffy’s show and spoke honestly about the feud. He also told Richard Jefferson what the conflict was.
Throughout the beef, Sass insisted that LeBron’s problem with him was Jordan’s idea of being a goat.
It is hard to imagine the king fighting back after this latest accusation from Smith. James is much more likely to focus on the Lakers offseason and how the team can improve.
