LeBron James and La Lakers are down 3-1 in the opening round of the NBA playoffs.
The playoffs have so far been gruesome for the LA Lakers, with the team on the brink of elimination after four games.
There’s no room for error for Anthony Edwards, who decided after giving up multiple leads in Game 4, including a 10-point advantage heading into the fourth quarter, to lead the Minnesota Timberwolves.
LeBron James is determined to lead the comeback as he became famous in the NBA Finals with the Warriors in 2016, and is the only 3-1 comeback in final history.
LeBron James and La Lakers have been defeated once from elimination as they need to go 3-0 to turn the series around.
His former rival claims teammate Dwight Howard, who won the title in 2020, should he be considered the greatest ever, if LeBron James can power his comeback.
He posted on X: “If LeBron returns from 3-1 at age 40, I don’t want to hear about the goat argument either.”
ESPN analyst Stephen A. Smith asked about Dwight Howard’s claims.
When I first spoke about the take, he shot back.
He then took a shot in the fourth quarter of LeBron in Game 4.
He then dismissed the LeBron James goat case, claiming that Michael Jordan never even fell 3-1 in the series in the first place.
“Here I’m fatally serious. I’m tired of acting like, ‘Forget Michael Jordan’s six championship rings and forgetting the fact that he’s undefeated in the championship round.”
“There was no Game 7 because he took you away before that.”
To reach Game 7, LeBron James and the Lakers will need to win games 5 and 6, and for now his focus is purely on saving the Lakers season.
Stephen A. Smith added: “Stop nonsense, this is the MJ we’re talking about here. I don’t want to hear anything about LeBron James and the goat conversation, especially when he’s down 3-1.”
