The Golden State Warriors last won the championship in 2022.
At the time, the team still had core players: Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green.
Andrew Wiggins was also an All-Star that season, with the Warriors having another promising young player in the form of Jordan Pool.
Charlie recently revealed that despite having a piece suitable for a championship run, the team is not the perfect 10 out of 10.
More importantly, he believes the Warriors’ roster is excellent next season, and is a legitimate ability to beat league opponents.
Curry’s confidence stems from more than an improvement in the roster depth with additions such as the return of Al Horford, DeAntony Melton and Jonathan Cuminga.
The main reason for his optimism was that Jimmy Butler entered his first full season with the franchise, bringing dynamics that the 2022 team never owned.
“We have legal shots. Everyone in the West can compete against us. Obviously, everything has to be right and healthy.”
“Everyone who wins a championship, that’s a prerequisite and just has the opportunity to show it in the playoffs,” Curry explained.
“The idea for 22 years is that if I said this is a team that wins everything in training camp, I would have believed it, but it might not be like tenths.
“I think there’s a bit of a similarity there, but there’s another dynamic that Jimmy didn’t even have at the time, so I’m excited to see it all the time,” he added.
The Warriors enter the next season and enter with impressive depth across multiple positions.
They finally secured a reliable stretch at Al Horford to address the long-standing roster needs.
Melton offers two-way guard features, while Moses Moody and Brandin Posiemski compete for the starting shooting guard position.
Seth Curry adds additional boundary fire to complement the offensive versatility of the roster.
However, Curry acknowledged that health is an important prerequisite for championship competition, as warriors are aging team.
