Steve Ballmer has vehemently denied any injustice or involvement in the recent La Clippers and hug controversy over Kawi Leonard.
Steve Ballmer and La Clippers have found themselves in quite a bit of hot water over the past few days.
Pablo Torre recently conducted a survey. There, Kawi Leonard is said to have won $28 million from a suction approval agreement, a company backed by Ballmer.
Mavericks owner Mark Cuba came to Balmer’s defense, but many are asking for some kind of lawsuit against the Clippers, who allegedly tried to circumvent the salary cap.
However, Ballmer himself pushed back these allegations and continued ESPN to interview him about the situation.
Steve Ballmer sat down with ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne for an interview to discuss the recent aspiration controversy.
He claimed he had not had contact with Kawi Leonard since the news broke.
“I’m not told (Kawhi Leonard), no. I don’t ask about it because it’s really his business.
“We, the Clippers, have followed the pay cap avoidance rules because that was the right thing to do and we did it.
“Let’s talk to the fans. We signed (expansion) with Kauhi before any of this before Kauhi found out about these people.
“We signed a contract. It’s high integrity. We signed a contract with hope. We did things with the books.
“No. I didn’t (I hope to sign a contract with Kawi Leonard) and, more importantly, we didn’t play the Clippers.
Steve Ballmer has also expressed his dissatisfaction with the situation and how it gives a negative light to the Clippers organization, staff, players and fanbase.
“I think it expresses some of the rage I feel about what is going on, and I feel sad about our employees.
“I’m mad, but it’s sad that they’re going through this as well as our staff and our fans.”
The Clippers are expected to be investigated by the NBA in the coming days, and punitive damages could be massive if convicted.
The NBA can decide to set an example for the Clippers.
