Steve Ballmer believes that other NBA teams need to investigate as well, as he and the LA Clippers go beyond Kawi Leonard’s controversy.
The NBA world cannot stop talking about the latest developments in the Kawhi Leonard-Aspiration controversy.
A few days ago, Pablo Torre stopped investigating the LA Clippers and suction Kawi Leonard, claiming that the LA Clippers used the company to pay Leonard to the salary cap.
The Clippers had a defender with Mavericks owner Mark Cuban supporting Steve Ballmer. But the vast majority of the NBA world is looking for investigation.
Steve Ballmer refused to contact Kawi Leonard on the matter.
Steve Ballmer discussed a recent LA Clippers research in a sit-in interview with ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne.
When discussing how he would respond if other NBA teams were accused of the same thing as the Clippers, Ballmer asserted he wanted to investigate.
He added that the Clippers are always doing things the right way and that there’s nothing to hide from the ongoing investigation of the NBA.
“Since the day I bought the team… we have really emphasized doing things the right way… we welcome research into the league, we have nothing to hide.
“I want the league to investigate and take that seriously. The pay cap evasion rules are important for the league. I want to investigate the league.
“I don’t know. I hope they (the owners of the NBA) have faith and confidence in me, those who have come to know me, but I can’t predict that.
Steve Ballmer also reiterated that he and La Clippers had nothing to do with Kawi Leonard’s $28 million aspiration contract.
“Pablo podcasts? I don’t know anything about the court documents on this. I haven’t seen them and I don’t know… The speculation is what it is… They seduced me. I invested in these people.
“I don’t know why they did what they did, and I don’t know how different it is… the speculation is going to be crazy. These were people who committed fraud.
“Look, they told me… At this stage, I have no ability to predict what they did, not to mention a specific contract with Kauhi.”
Ballmer insists he and the Clippers have nothing to hide in this investigation, and invites the NBA to look into the issue.
But this situation with the Clippers may shed light on Jalen Branson and the Knicks. But for now, the Clippers are the only team under investigation.
