The Golden State Warriors are a team that has been changed thanks to Jimmy Butler’s deadline deal.
Jimmy Butler gave the Golden State Warriors a shot of hope when the team seemed to fade during a rough stretch of two months.
The results quickly rise, butler adds a new dimension to the Warriors’ offense, creating more space for Stephen Curry, adding a threat to the paint, and Steve Kerr is pleased with his new Starman.
And although the change was positive, one man has been a strange man so far.
Jonathan Kuminga had been injured before the trade deadline and had to wait to play his role in the new Look Warriors.
He returned to warrior against the Kings on March 14th, and was heavily criticized by fans following his performance in the Warriors Shockross against the Denver Nuggets without Nicola Jokic.
It’s a slightly challenging reintroduction, and Steve Kerr admits that Kuminga has to adjust because he doesn’t fit perfectly with what the Warriors are doing now.
Speaking to the game’s 95.7, Carr said:
“We’re a completely different team right now before his injury. Clearly there’s Jimmy Butler and Jimmy is the best ISO player in the analytics league.
“So our style has changed a bit. We’re playing through Jimmy…it’s a JK adjustment.”
Jonathan Kuminga has played six games since returning from injury and has yet to surpass 18 points on the team.
Before the All-Star break, Cuminga averaged 16.8 ppg, but since then this has been soaked in 13.8. His rebounds per game fell from 5.0 to 3.2 per game.
Some of this could be attributed to a slight drop in a few minutes, averaged from 26.0 to 23.2 per game.
However, there is also an eye test, and it is clear that Kuminga is still trying to solve his new role, and it should come with time, and Kerr has a great faith in his talent, and he will get the opportunity.
