Since the All-Star break, the Golden State Warriors have been building up victory. Their latest three around the Memphis Grizzlies, La Lakers and the Denver Nuggets were particularly important.
Based on each of their competitors, the warriors have proven themselves as real candidates, a stunning turn from mid-season shape.
Jimmy Butler’s trade changed the Warriors season, with team legend Chris Mullin believing that his pairing with Stephen Curry could equalize Lakers’ duo LeBron James and Luka Donsic.
But his partnership with Jimmy Butler is another player that caught the eye of head coach Steve Kerr.
Brandin Podziemski praised his “outstanding” performance, scoring 28 points in the Warriors’ victory over La Lakers.
He scored 26 points in his subsequent victory over the Denver Nuggets, and the sophomore player is making a big impact now.
Steve Kerr is excited about how he plays and shines through at his postgame press conference about his boost since Butler’s deal.
He said: “Brandin is probably the biggest beneficiary of the Jimmy trade. They have a really good connection together. Jimmy makes everyone better, but he especially makes Brandin better.
“Brandin plays with confidence that comes with his second year of more than 30 minutes each night.
“The shots aren’t always there, but they will be consistent over time.
Detailed how Butler benefited Posiemski, Kerr mentioned the calmness and efficiency Butler brought to his team.
He said: “Jimmy plays the right game every time, gets attention and never hand over. They have a great connection, two people’s games, find each other, and the game plays.
“The game really plays with these two.
“It’s a puzzle. It’s a five-person puzzle and we found a really good starting group.”
Steve Kerr wasn’t happy with Brandin Podziemski’s decisions and performance at the beginning of the NBA season.
Speaking in late February, Kerr said he believed Poziemsky could be the winner of the Butler trade and was encouraged by ways of complementing each other.
A few weeks later, in early April, Kerr’s comments backed up what he wanted, and Posiemski clearly benefited from the former Heatstar being traded with the Warriors.
Against the Lakers, he had eight three pointers to help him go above 25 points, but added five rebounds and five assists. The only other Warriors who do this in the game are Klay Thompson and Stephen Curry of Elite Company.
