The right-handed batsman said he felt strong, like before 2014, after extensively working on a fitness regimen with a new American personal trainer. He also said his hips are more flexible now.
Well, the 36-year-old admitted that staying mentally stronger as he gets older becomes more severe, but he emphasized the importance of staying focused, and that he is in the right mental framework to hit longer.

Steve Smith calls the Lord’s Favorite Ground after Sydney
The veteran batsman adds, “Maybe it’s history, the surface itself to play on my favorite ground outside of Sydney. It always takes a few balls to get used to that slope. On one end, you’re really tall, and on the other end, it feels like the ball is a little bit farther down the hill.”
He even joked that he missed the legendary lunch at Lords. Smith said, “And the lunch is great. They always say it’s a great place to get away. Luckily, unfortunately, I did really well there and couldn’t cash it out.”
