Two of the world’s strongest men had fewer chess matches and the Derby collided with more sights. Eddie Hall, the world’s strongest man and British media personality of 2017, made his official MMA debut against Poland’s Marius Pujanovsky.
Eddie Hall Steamrolls Mariusz Pudzianowski debuting in MMA
The match, which was performed at KSW 105 in Griwys, Poland, was billed as “the strongest battle in the world.” Eddie Hall flipped the scale at 334 pounds and faced a 67 pound weight advantage over 48-year-old Puzianovsky, recording a 17-9-1 MMA record.
Despite the experience of Polish legend, the battle ended as soon as it began. Eddie Hall attacks, landing a sharp jab, then left hook – “Super short just hands him over,” he said. Puzianovsky fired for a takedown, but Hall shrugged him and sent him to the mat, unleashing a barrage of hammer fist. “Fives, six, seven… 17 shots while he’s on the floor. That’s insane,” Hall said, sounding still surprised by his own handiwork.
The referee stepped in just 30 seconds later and awarded Hall the TKO victory. However, the aftermath was not without controversy. Puzianovsky protested and claimed it ended with an illegal shot to the back of his head, and the charge hole was inevitable. “There’s been a lot of talk about the shots on my back. I’ll apologise. That’s one of them. If someone shows me the back of my head while throwing my fist, it’s literally my first MMA fight. My adrenaline went through the roof.
For Hall, victory was a year of production, a product of relentless training. “We worked very hard for this fight, and it was a pretty year that was made,” he said. Hall emphasized the importance of setting the tone earlier. “In my opinion, anyone who throws the first jab sets the pace of the fight.” He also believes in his speed and power. It often claims to be underestimated, “People seem to think I’m fast. I’m fast… like everyone” (expletive), man, you have quick hands. ”
Despite the dominant victory, Eddie Hall quickly admitted the mountain he had just climbed. “I was playing a Zero fight and I was fighting someone. This was his 27th MMA fight, a professional MMA fight. He also revealed that the referee was reportedly a friend of Puzianovsky, who emphasized the odds he felt he had faced.
Next up, I’m not following the title or rankings. “It’s the fight game that excites me. I love fighting… What interests me is that I enjoy building my business and building my profile.” He is accepting a rematch this time in a shorter round. “He called for a shot last time. This time we’re calling for a shot.”
