Newcastle is caught up in the news that Alexander Isaac is seeking a move away from the club this summer. The 25-year-old is keen to explore his options, and for this reason he was removed from Eddie Hau’s team for the preseason tour in Singapore and South Korea.
The official line from Newcastle is that Isaac is not traveling due to a thigh injury. And defender Dan Byrne stuck to this when he spoke to the media about the issue.
Dan Byrne responds to the development of Alexander Isaac
According to a soccer insider, Byrne asked about Isaac during a Singapore touchdown. He wants to see his teammates return when he returns northeast.
“He hasn’t been trained for the last few days we were at home either. He was struggling a bit with the thigh tension he picked up while we were in Austria. Obviously, he’s a big player for us, but we have quality throughout the field.
“I think losing a player will upset us. We are a close group that has been together for a couple of years. So the players leaving it won’t help. From our perspective, we are trying to control what we can control.
“Obviously, I look forward to coming back when Alex is healthy.”
By the time his teammate returns from Asia, it’s all possible that Newcastle is already selling ISAK. His departure is likely the most likely for Liverpool, but it will be a major blow to the winner of the Carabao Cup. Instead, what I’ve forgotten so far has been the relocation window.
