Newcastle United will be talking about the potential transfer moves of Juventus midfielder and former Aston Villa star Douglas Lewis.
Brazil International was shining between at Villa Park, but has been struggling to find the legs since moving to Juve last summer.
This year, Lewis could move again this year, and TVPlay appears to be reporting that Juventus is open to discussing swap transactions, including the magpie Star Sandro Tonali.
Luiz has built a career up and down a bit as he previously flops as a young man in Manchester City, leaving the club behind without affecting it.
Lewis then became the star of the villa, but failed to make that step up to the big club again.
Douglas Lewis on Newcastle’s transfer radar this summer
However, Newcastle was able to attempt to bring Luiz back to the Premier League, as it is about to be strengthened ahead of next season.
Some fans may be worried about targeting the 26-year-old after dipping into form in Serie A, but he shows what top performers can be in the Premier League.
Newcastle also wanted someone in his caliber to come in if he lost a key player like Tonari in the middle.
If Douglas Lewis is available, can other clubs join?
There must be quite a few Villa fans who regret Lewis being sold, so can their clubs enter the mix to get him back?
For now, Newcastle is the most strongly linked, but this should certainly be kept in mind in weeks and months.
If he’s actually available in the market this summer, it’s hard to imagine NUFC getting a free run with such a top player.
