Los Angeles relief pitcher Tanner Scott has his first vicious season as a member of the defending champion.
His final five starts include a blown save, a loss, another blown save, a total no hitter (but secures a save), and a walk-off grand slam to the San Francisco Giants, where Friday night’s walk-off grand slam is 10 times.
The 31-year-old Southpaw spoke to the media on Friday night after the unfortunate ending of his outing.

“We gave up a bad pitch for a batsman who can hit a fastball, and that cost us once again,” Scott said. “I’m tired of it happening.
“It’s terrible. I’m having the worst year of my life. I have to do better.”
ace Yoshinobu Yamamoto’s final two starts consisted of 15.2 innings, two hits, two run scored, three walks and 20 strikeouts. Both of these starts (both 10 strikeout performances) ended with walk-off fashion on Scott’s left hand.
“I don’t know if I’m turning or what I’m doing, but they’re all there and that’s awful,” Scott said.
“It was a fastball above the zone. Maybe I’m falling. I don’t have a clue for Frigin right now.”
It’s unfair to say that each of his recent losses is solely in Scott. The last blown save he was credited, he joined the game – it was something away from being a no-hit – with a loaded bass.
On Friday night he entered the game with one out and runner third. The first batsman he faced, John Who Lee, looked like a strikeout, but the umpire ruled it was a foul tip. Lee walked behind, and Casey Schmidt deliberately walked to load the base.
There are good situations to get into the game, support more support, and participate in different sequences of events, but Scott’s point is that baseball can produce horrible results for individuals.
Everything Scott can do at this point this year is hoping to continue doing what he has done in the past and improve production, just like how superstar teammate Mookie Betts worked to get out of his worst career slump.
If he still wants to be seen as an option to rely on high-leverage situations, you will need to make changes immediately.
