Southampton attacker Tyler Dives has linked travel away from the club in recent months, prompting them to join Everton or West Ham United.
The players are reportedly also on the radar of clubs like Liverpool. However, former Aston Villa striker Gabriel Agbonlahore has urged players to choose Everton or West Ham over Liverpool.
While there is no doubt that 19 is a tremendous talent with a bright future, Agbonlahor believes he is just too young for a big move towards Liverpool right now.
He said on Talksport: Agbonlahor is strange.
“He’s too young for a big move towards Liverpool.”
He needs regular game time
Dives may struggle with regular game times at Merseyside Clubs. And it certainly makes sense for him to join clubs like Everton and West Ham for now. He may get regular games at the London Club or Everton.
Meanwhile, Everton and West Ham looked toothless in their offense last season, allowing them to use more depth in the final third. The 19-year-old adds pace and unpredictability to the side.
Tyler Diving deserves Premier League moves
It will be interesting to see if the club has decided to put his offer forward in the coming weeks. He is reportedly valued at £100 million.
He’s too good to play in the championship and would want to go back to the Premier League. Southampton has been kicked out and they can’t stop their main players from leaving. They’ll want to hold on to the younger attacker as long as possible, but he could push the move.
It remains to be seen where he will ultimately end up. Liverpool could use deeper depths across a wide range of areas, and signing a 19-year-old would be a solid investment for them. However, this move may not be ideal for players. He needs to play regularly and focus on continuing his development. Sitting on the bench of a big club is detrimental to his growth.
