Terence Crawford believes UFC fans are supporting their own superior support than boxing.
In discussions with former UFC champions Kamal Usman and Henry Sejude, super welterweight boxing champion Crawford agreed that the best fights in the UFC are more frequent than boxing.
He also insisted that his beloved UFC superstar doesn’t get much heat when he loses as much as a boxer. He explained how undefeated Floyd Mayweather set up a very high bar in boxing.
“The UFC has a good way to get the best fight at the right time,” Crawford said on the “Polume 4 pound” podcast. “Not only that, one thing I love about the UFC is that guys can still be supported by losing. Today, Floyd goes where you lose and they kick you to the curb and say you’re the ass.
“He left unharmed records and set the bar high. So now everyone is trying to protect 0 because they get one loss. Now you need to go behind the bus.
With the help of Turki Alalshikh, a general entertainment station in Saudi Arabia, Crawford may get a highly anticipated matchup with Ring, WBO, WBA and WBC super middleweight champion Canelo Alvarez at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. But first, Alvarez takes on undefeated IBF champion William Skull on May 3 (May 4) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
