Tottenham Hotspur striker Richarlison has been linked with a move to MLS or a club in Saudi Arabia.
Former Tottenham scout Mick Brown says the 28-year-old could be tempted to leave the club when the transfer window opens in January. It will be interesting to see whether Tottenham are prepared to allow him to leave.
According to recent reports, Orlando City are interested in Richarlison.
The Brazilian has failed to live up to expectations since his big move from Everton. He made over 100 appearances for Tottenham, scoring 23 goals. They probably expected more from this player when they signed him.
It will be interesting to see if they are ready to move Richarlison in January. However, consider introducing quality alternatives first. We can’t let our team weaken in the middle of the season. Dominic Solanke has not been able to score goals consistently since joining the club and is currently sidelined with injury.
Could Richarlison leave?
“Richarlison may be tempted to leave Tottenham,” he told Football Insider.
“But then they will have to sign a new striker because they don’t have the depth to release someone without replacing them in that position.
“Solanke’s injury problems mean they need someone who can fill in during his absence. They are not going to put themselves in a situation where they are short.”
It will be interesting to see how the situation develops.
Spurs should keep Richarlison for now
It may be difficult to find a quality replacement for the Brazilian in January. It is not easy to sign a top player midway through the season, so Tottenham would be wise to keep the South American attacker until the end of the season.
Richarlison has performed well under manager Thomas Frank and it would be ideal to keep him at the club until the end of the season. He could be a very useful player for the London club this season.
