Man United was about to sign a striker this summer and after linking with many players, they now settled on their main target, Victor Osimchen.
It was a disastrous season for Man United, and much of their problems stemmed from a lack of goals. Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee have struggled to find the backstage of the net, which has led the club boss to prioritize signing the world-class striker in the transfer window for the upcoming summer.
While things like Viktor Gyokeres and Jonathan David have been linked in recent months, Osimhen appears to be hoping that Man United will lead the line next season for Ruben Amorim.
United Man who prioritizes Victor Osimhen’s summer moves
As Nigerian journalist Buchi Laba (via TeamTalk) reported, Man United has told Osimhen and his aides that he is their preferred striker target this summer, but they are expected to face competition from the unknown La Liga Club.
“There are no official offers, but Man United have made it clear to Victor Osimchen that he is their first choice. It’s the same as one club in Spain. They’ve been making big pushes for months now.”
Osimhen had a very productive season with Galatasaray, recording 28 in just 32 appearances. Once his loan agreement expires at Türkiye, he returns to Naples in the summer.
But they are not alone. Apart from the unnamed Laliga, Juventus is said to be very interested in signing Osimchen as a solution to his own scoring problems, and the growing competition will certainly make it difficult to get the deal done given Man United’s lack of funds at will.
