West Ham is targeting another big summer after a very disappointing season, but must sell before signing. And they have already begun identifying players who can cash out during the transfer window.
West Ham could barely avoid relegation from the Premier League. They are guaranteed to be safe this weekend, but it was a terrible and disappointing campaign. Graham Potter arrived mid-season, but the club’s fortunes haven’t improved particularly, but will be supported in the summer.
But they need to raise money, and West Ham aims to do this by removing players who are impressed under Potter. One of them was the second season at London Stadium which was extremely overwhelming.
West Ham tells Edson Alvarez that he’s not a future plan
According to Claret and Hugh, West Ham has told Alvarez and his representative that he is not in plans for the future, so they want him to find a new club this summer. Hammer hopes this can be rediscovered during the upcoming transfer period, as there has been interest from things like Mexican midfielder Chelsea.
West Ham signed Alvarez from Ajax for a £32 million fee in the summer of 2023, but when he tried to sell him for two years it sometimes felt difficult to retrieve that number. The report says there is a wide range of interest, but the asked price set may depend on whether something will come true or not.
It remains to be seen how summer will play out for West Ham, but if they start competing again in the top half of the Premier League table, it’s certainly important to them.
