The Los Angeles have activated right-handed reliever Kirby Yates from the injured list.
In a corresponding move, Southpaw Blake Snell is on the paternity list. Snell was with his wife, who was expected to soon become labor, leaving shortly after Friday’s defeat was defeated by the San Diego Padres.

Yates first reached the list of injured in the uniform in mid-May. His recent stint on IL has been to keep him out since July 26th to deal with lower back pain.
The 38-year-old right-hander is working with the 4.31 ERA in 31.1 innings this season. This is far from the 1.17 ERA 2024 campaign with the Texas Rangers, where he won All-Star honors and an eighth place CY Young Award finish.
In Yates’ first 10 games since returning from the IL stint in mid-May, the right-hander showed signs of life with a 2.35 ERA in that range, but on his seven latest outings before being shelved again, his ERA was 7.20 in those five innings.
The Hawaiian veteran bailiffs were unable to return to the pitching roster, which required deeper depth, and opted for a better time to be active.
After dropping the series opener to the San Diego Padres on Friday night, the will be number one with the NL West Monks. Despite Snell appearing like his old self by the start, the were unable to offer more than three hits in the evening.
Speaking of Snell, the MLB paternity list allows players to move away from the team for three days with their families and remember alternatives to the 40-man roster.
Snell was on electricity after returning from his absence for four months. In his final four starts, Southpaw has a 1.96 ERA with 26 strikeouts on seven walks.
