The Los Angeles have suffered countless pitching injuries this season, but getting injured in one of the most exciting young prospects of this past offseason has stabbed a little more fans.
Roki Sasaki is a very popular pitcher and generated interest from almost every MLB club when he declared his intention to move from Nippon’s professional baseball to the North American Premier League.
After eight starts that showed a clear struggle with Commando, the shoulder collision took the 23-year-old genius bystanding from the beginning of May. Manager Dave Roberts recently spoke about Sasaki’s painlessness, and even mentioned a potential timetable.

Roberts said via athletic Fabian Aldaya, Sasaki began throwing bullpen sessions again, and no longer felt shoulder pain. In terms of returning to the team, the skipper grew up in late August as a potential marker for young right-handed people.
Sasaki has a 4.72 ERA in 34.1 innings this season and pitched a 24-step strikeout to 22 steps. His ERA+86 was below the league’s average rating of 100.
The pitcher taking the mound for the was barely recognised by the constantly struggling batsman in Japan. In four NPB seasons, Sasaki had an ERA 2.10, 505 strikeouts and only 88 walks.
Sasaki’s lack of experience, the huge difference between MLB and NPB, and perhaps even the important expectations set for him are all possible factors as to why the 23-year-old didn’t recognize a North American baseball career, but the know that the pitcher’s career lasts longer than 34.1 innings.
As Sasaki fights back from his injury and approaches the pitcher he was in Japan, he gains more experience with the MLB batter, finds the right sequences and adjustments, and continues to grow into the high goals that both he and the organization have for him.
