Fabio Quartararro says it would be “very difficult” to close Italy’s MotoGP on Sunday if it can’t fix the chatter and degradation issues he encountered in Saturday’s sprint.

Quartarraro, who actually partially dislocated his left shoulder on Friday, made his second appearance on Saturday morning, but fell from fourth to the 10th by the end of the 11-lap race despite a good start.

The main issues with the Monster Energy Yamaha Rider were not related to his physical condition, rather his tyre performance, particularly his chatter.

“It hurts a bit, of course, but basically the biggest problem we had is chatter, a lot of chatter,” Fabio Quartararo told Motogp.com after Mugello Motogp Sprint.

“In fact, we really don’t know why.

“Grip, performance, we knew there would be drops, but I wasn’t expecting much.

“It’s pretty difficult because starting from this lap, you can’t basically finish the race, so I hope we can improve tomorrow.”

Despite slipping down the sprint order, Quartarraro was still the best Yamaha at the end of the race on the 10th.

The next best was Miguel Oliveira on the 13th, but the gambling of the hard compound front tires didn’t work for Jack Miller, who finished 16th. Alex Lyns finished in 18th place after the incident with Miller dropped him from 10th to 2nd on lap 4.
