This may be the final dance of this current Boston Celtic steam team as things are changing due to the historic franchise.
The Boston Celtics know they’ll face the New York Knicks in the second round of the NBA playoffs.
Jalen Brunson gave an incredible performance to help the Knicks move forward. It’s fair to see the Knicks become the most challenging opponent of the last two years of the playoffs.
However, the Celtics are steaming their enemies. Jason Tatum made history during his first round series performance against magic.
On the other hand, Kristaps Porzingis showed how much of a warrior he is by fighting injuries. But now there are serious questions about how long these two aspects play together.
Speaking on the Pat McAfee Show, NBA insider Shamscharania talked about the future of the Boston Celtics beyond this season.
He admitted that the Celtics roster will make a difference in the summer. Their current pay bill, combined with new ownership, will make the current wage structure unacceptable.
“We can tell you that the rest of the league is supporting some change in order to come to the Celtics this offseason roster.”
“The source has been telling me for a few weeks that the Celtics will explore offseason trade options. This iteration is not sustainable for this team and no one around the organization will be surprised when changes to this roster come into play.”
“When we think about collective bargaining agreements, there are restrictions associated with changes and restrictions associated with freezing drafts.”
“That’s everything they’re dealing with now… The Celtics knew they were staring at this this summer when they traded for Jrue Holiday.”

No matter what roster the Celtics decide, they can’t risk losing either Jason Tatum or Jalen Brown. They are by far the best of two.
However, both players earn more than $100 million in total, and have little flexibility when it comes to Celtics pay caps.
Other high-earning stars like Kristaps Porzingis and Jrue Holiday may have to take small deals or accept trades to help the Celtics avoid the scary second apron.
Otherwise, it will be significantly limited in its ability to build competitors around the two Celtics superstars. This is a waste of each prime number.
