The score started early as All-Star right fielder Tescal Hernandez sent a solo shot 380 feet away to left center.

The D-back was stymed in the first six innings thanks to another strong performance by three MVP Shohei Ohtani on the mound. He threw eight strikeouts in six scoreless innings (his deepest outing since August 8, 2023), allowing five hits and no walks. He generated 16 whims, coming out at 101.2 mph at the highest, and his fastball averaged 98.2 on his radar gun.

Hernandez continued his hot bat and knocked two runs in triples at the top of six innings. After the innings, catcher Ben Rothvent began his first home run in a uniform, creating a souvenir 393 feet away.

Things began to become dangerous in the lower half of the frame as another gem from the starting pitcher was wasted by the bullpen.

Diamondbacks catcher James McCann released a 105.2 mph double-off from Jack Dreyer, with Ildemaro Vargas and next batsman Adrian Del Castillo tattooing a 108.7-mile home run from Edgardo Henriquez.

Rortvedt again played in one and two innings in eight innings. A double steel from Arizona took the runner in third place, but fresh from his first long ball with Blue, Roatbed threw the runner towards second place, leading to Southpaw Reliever Alex Vescia, finishing the inning.

After Tanner Scott joined the game at the bottom of the ninth, he hit the first batter he faced and walked the next Diamondbacks batter. The sacrifice bunt advanced the runners but after getting the first out, the sacrifice fly tied the game, with the walk-off Gerarldo Perdomo single winning Arizona and keeping the LA magic number at 3 to clinch NL West.
