Gabase joined the Colorado on Tuesday as part of the taxi squad. A day later, he is officially called to make his debut.
Who is Paul Gerverse?
Gervase, 25, was bought by the at trade deadline on a three-team deal with Tampa Bay Rays and Cincinnati Reds.
The 6-foot-10 reliever has made four appearances for the Rays this season, earning his ERA 4.26 in 6.1 innings.

Gervase had a strong season with Triple-A this year, earning a 2.94 ERA in 33 appearances for both the and Rays organizations. Since the deadline, Gervase has made five appearances for Triple A Oklahoma City, earning a 2.08 ERA in 8.2 innings.
Why did the send Alexis Diaz?
As for the corresponding move, Diaz has struggled with the at MLB level this season.
LA acquired a former All-Star Reliever from the Reds earlier this season after receiving a minor league option with a 12.00 ERA in six big league matches.
Since being recalled by the , Diaz has scored a 5.00 ERA in nine innings and nine strikeouts to earn nine ERAs.

Diaz was an All-Star alongside Cincinnati in 2023, having a 3.07 ERA in 67.1 innings. He got even better during his 2022 rookie season, finishing with an ERA of 1.84 in 63.2 innings.
The wanted Diaz to return to All-Star form, but it wasn’t translated anytime soon. Now he’s back in the minor leagues for more seasonings.
