The Los Angeles are considering placing Heisen Kim and Tommy Edman on their injured list. Kim was dealing with a shoulder injury over the past week last week, but Edman manages the flare-up with a lingering ankle injury.
manager Dave Roberts explained that both players believe they are healthy enough to play. However, organizations are considering other factors when deciding whether to shut down a pair.

“That’s the blurry line,” Roberts said Kim played after the game on Monday, and that Edman didn’t. “Players clearly feel that they’re not hurt, that’s where they can play and post. That’s great. But are you still hurting the team and hurting yourself, that’s the organization, the training staff, we have to make that decision.”
Kim has struggled with the plate in recent games, but this could be the result of his shoulder injury. The rookie hit just .158 in his last seven games, hitting 10 of his last 19 at-bats.
“You can see offensively with the bat. He’s not himself now,” Roberts said.
Edman’s injuries have been around since early May, but it appears that he hasn’t affected him with the plate like Kim. Edman cut .280/.333/.400 and only hit four times in his last 25 at-bats. However, he didn’t play on Monday. Because he felt he couldn’t run at full speed.
“It’s always there,” Edman said of the ankle injury. “But I think that was pretty normal.”
The are bringing third overall prospect Alex Freeland to taxi squadron Cincinnati. Although Los Angeles hasn’t officially added an infielder to the 26-man roster, Freeland was able to make his MLB debut at some point in the series, in response to the ‘ decision on Kim and Edman.
“He’ll come and see who’s going with whom,” Roberts said of Freeland. “We’re just trying to understand a bit… if we need to make a move for one of those guys.”
