The Charlotte Hornets are eager to turn things around.
After all, the Charlotte Hornets now have the longest playoff drought in the entire NBA, as they reached their last postseason in 2016.
The Hornets trusted Charles Lee to be the head coach, but the front office needs to do a better job of building a quality roster.
Speaking of which, let’s take a quick look at the biggest changes the Hornets have made ahead of the 2025-26 NBA season.
Since the 2020-21 NBA season, the Hornets hope to return to playoff competition with their LAMERO Ball.
However, Hornet has failed with this strategy many times. As a result, it is no surprise that Ball’s name is the mainstay of NBA trade rumors.
Nevertheless, the Hornets continue to build around injury-prone point guards. That said, ahead of the next season, there are all the additions the Hornets have made to their roster.
- Tre Mann (re-signed 3-year contract)
- Pat Connaughton (trade from the Milwaukee Bucks)
- Spencer Dinwiddie (signed as a free agent)
- Mason Plumley (signed as a free agent)
- Colin Sexton (trade from Utah Jazz)
With all the moves in mind, the Colin Sexton deal is the biggest addition to the Hornets’ roster. Sexton comes just after averaging 18.4 points, 2.7 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game of Jazz last season.

Given the fact that the Hornets added multiple players as free agents, they would like to allow a few to leave as well.
Otherwise, the Hornets don’t have enough open spots to sign the players listed above.
That being said, ahead of the new campaign, there will be all departures via trades from the free agency and Hornets team.
- Vasilije Micic (trading with the Milwaukee Bucks)
- jusuf nurkic (trading with Utah Jazz)
- Josh Okogee (Abandoned)
- Mark Williams (Deals with the Phoenix Suns)
The most notable starting point is the departure of Mark Williams, who made headlines last season following a failed deal with the LA Lakers.
In any case, Hornets’ 2025-26 lineup certainly looks very different from last season. But is it enough to win the playoff berth in the end? Fans will be spotted during the regular season.
