“I think you’ll get some glimpses of some of mine being there. That’s good. The problem tonight was just commanding. There was a really bad command tonight,” Kershaw said. “I think I can fix it. That’s good. It’s encouraging, but obviously it’s not enough to get it done.”
Of the 83 pitches on the Kershaw, 40 were in the strike zone, but the batsmen shaking on 10 throws and missed. During the outing process, Hello contacted Southpaw’s 26 pitches, but fouled 11 of his offerings.
“I left a few middle today,” Kershaw said. “More than anything, there are lots of foul balls instead of swings and mistakes, so it has to be my out-pitch, and it has to be something that will be a swing and a mistake.
The future Hall of Fame pitched last on August 30, 2024, and has since recovered from surgery to repair left meniscus and bone spurs on his left toe. With five minor league rehab start, Kershaw had a 2.57 ERA in 21 innings and 16 strikeouts on five walks.
Kershaw is considered a more important piece of the ‘ rotation this season, due to so many pitcher injuries. If the MVP can get a more glimpse into his previous self, he will pace for the productive rest of the campaign, recording log quality innings for teams that require his pitching ability more than ever.
