There could be some positive forwarding news coming up as Manchester United appears to be returning in search of its previous £50 million target.
The Red Devils have endured such a difficult season, so the big change to Reuben Amorim’s team certainly makes sense ahead of their next campaign.
One name that appears to emerge as a priority for Man Utd is the Everton Centre Back Jarrad Branthwaite.
And, according to a report from The Sun, Toffees doesn’t seem to have much hope that they can maintain the English international.
According to the report, Branthwaite has both looked at United and Tottenham, which will likely cost around £50 million.
Does Manchester United still need to be signed by Yarad Brantewaite?
Branthwaite was a special target for United last year, but the club failed to close the deal, eventually defending other signatures.
Both Leny Yoro and Matthijs de Ligt have joined.
Still, as MUFC moved to three plays in the back under new manager Ruben Amorim, Branthwaite will have the opportunity to play alongside both Yoro and De Ligt.
Still, the Red Devils also have Harry Maguire and Lisandro Martinez, so there’s a lot of competition for Amorim’s team, even though there’s three spaces to compete.
Branthwaite might probably be better off considering Tottenham if they emerge as a serious option, but the Sun’s report suggests that if he leaves the club in North London he will be targeted solely as a replacement for Christian Romero.
Everton had another difficult season, so either way, it seems likely that Brantewight is a talent they are trying to struggle to hold.
We need to see where he goes, but it’s not so surprising that the Sun report suggests that the EFC is not too confident about being able to stay 22 years old.
