The Los Angeles won the first game of their wildcard series against the Cincinnati Reds, informing the entire baseball world of origin who the defending champion is.

Hernandez went to the yard again and beat a solo shot at the bottom of the five innings to make the score 6-0.

Before the sixth inning was over, Otani again slammed the ball deeper. This time, the ball moved 454 feet at 113.5 mph, earning a score of 8-0, marking the franchise record for home runs in postseason games.
The two-time Cy Young Award winners hit more than nine jobs in seven innings. He allowed four hits, one walk and two run-to-takes on his way to his impressive outing.
During the bottom of the innings, Alex Call Single and Throw Error led Miguel Rojas to promote the lead and brought him back with a Ben Rotred RBI single, LA went 10-2 in the eighth inning.
Things were put in danger in the eighth inning as Alex Vescia struggled and the Reds scored after Edgard Henriquez walked the batsman with bases loaded. The RBI single then cut the lead to 10-4.

The eight innings looked to last forever. Star Shortstop Ellie Delacruz also walked along the way loading the base and scoring 10-5. However, Jack Dreyer was able to get out of the game, and Blake Trainen shut down ninth to close things down.
