Denver’s Nuggets have been living a busy period of free agency, making quality additions to their roster.

One of their first moves was to bring Cameron Johnson to the team by trading Michael Porter Jr. for the Brooklyn Nets.

He then signed the team to former Denver Nuggets player Bruce Brown, and then added Jonas Valanciunas to the roster.

Valanciunas spent the second half of the season with the Sacramento Kings, averaging 8.7 points and also grabbed seven rebounds.

He was expected to play the second fiddle to Nikola Jokic in Denver, but it was revealed that Valanciunas had chosen to move to Panathinaikos in Greece.

With his exit imminent, Nugget still has a medium-level exception at $14.1 million, with the money available to sign the Championship Center.

Al Horford is one of the most experienced players remaining on the market.

The 39-year-old won the championship in 2024 as a key part of the Boston Celtic steam team and was worthy of both ends of the floor.

Reports say the Golden State Warriors are expected to become front runners landing Horford, with the La Lakers also taking part in the race.

But with Balanchenas coming out of the Nuggets, they can definitely be in the race to sign Horford.

According to NBA reporter Evan Sidery, the 2023 champion could also offer him a key rotation role.

He tweeted.

“The Warriors and Lakers are currently the only teams at Horford’s sweepstakes, but Denver will soon be offering him a key rotation role.”

With nuggets again without a backup center, they are widely expected to pivot into pursuing Al Holford at their free agency.

Nuggets have done a great job in free agency by adding depth to the roster.

Bringing a Horford can further enhance your free agency grade as it is a high quality center that can do great work with Jokic.

Nuggett has not been able to find a good agent for Jokic in recent years, with players like DeAndre Jordan and Jeff Green filling in the role.

However, Horford is a better option than both players as he can stretch the floor and protect the best players on the opposing team.

Many Celtics players have urged their teams to bring Horford back next season, but they are spending the summer of revamping their roster and are expected to see more changes.

He is an incredible locker room presence and with players like him, Nuggets were able to put some load on Jokic’s shoulder as Horford can play precious few minutes when the three MVPs go to the bench.
