The Los Angeles have been dealing with the ongoing pitching struggle since spring training, as the injured pitcher’s grocery list has not shrunk as fast as fans would like.

The main goal of this past offseason has been to remodel the pitching roster and create more depth through acquisitions, but these reasons proved constant injuries to LA, but the president of the baseball business said he didn’t want to trade with pitchers ahead of the MLB trade deadline.

“I’m still optimistic,” Friedman said. “It requires us to go back to the pencil-tight timeline or get back nearby.

“We have shown that if we’re not in a position to do that, we’re going to be proactive in adding, but our strong desires aren’t.”

Both the starting spin and the bullpen are hit with similar blows in terms of long-term injuries, but expressing the “strong desire” to not acquire more talent sounds shocking at first, but perhaps more calculated than the ones on the surface.

The pitchers are slowly coming back from their respective illnesses, but for many there is no guarantee of potential set-offs and unclear timelines yet.

Someone like Blake Snell was given a five-year, $182 million contract this offseason, bringing two CY Young Awards and Southpaw talent to the , but convened two starts. He is expected to throw his second bullpen this week, but has been outings with shoulder inflammation since the beginning of April.

Tyler Glasnow is known to have been confused with the history of recent injuries, but is similar to what he is about to start his rehabilitation assignment. He has been suffering from shoulder inflammation since the end of April.

If the right deal presents itself and the don’t give up too many assets, Bridge Pitcher makes sense while LA waits for some of the injured men to come back, but if not, the waiting game continues for the .
