West Ham United have agreed to a deal with Nuno Espirito Santo to replace Graham Potter, who was fired Saturday morning after only nine months and 25 games in charge.
Nuno Espirito Santo takes over from Graham Potter in West Ham
The 51-year-old has replaced West Ham’s Potter after leaving Nottingham Forest for a public fallout with Evangelos Marinakis and wasted no time back at work.
The latter recorded the second most winning percentage among West Ham managers in Premier League history. This follows only Avram Grant, recognizing seven of seven of the 13 goals from corners this season.

It couldn’t continue very simply, and West Ham shareholders had very real concern that the expulsion was staring at them in the face (Claret & Hugh).
Exwhuemployee reported earlier this week that Nuno was approaching agreeing to a deal with West Ham, and Widepread Reports suggested that the former wolf and Tottenham boss are outstanding favorites.
Now these reports are realised, with the tactician poised for his first game to Everton at Hildickinson Stadium on Monday.
It is interesting to note that Chairman David Sullivan reportedly supported Slaven Billick’s return to a short-term contract until the end of the season. Some media sources claim that Nuno is demanding a large wage to join West Ham in a long-term contract.
The driving force behind Nuno Espirito Santo’s move to West Ham
It is therefore surprising that he was not the driving force behind Nuno’s move to East London.
In fact, according to Talksport’s Alex Crook, Vice-Chair Karren Brady was leading West Ham’s accusations to appoint Nuno. The journalists also revealed disagreements between officials and Sullivan over Potter’s previous contract.
It appears that Brady has rejected Sullivan for the second time in a year through Nuno’s arrival, but given the coach’s apparent credentials, her decision could prove to be the right one.
Why Brady was right to promote the appointment of Nuno at West Ham
A series of other candidates linked to posts such as Bilic, Gary O’Neil, Scott Parker, Marco Silva, Sean Dyche, Frank Lampard, and Michael Carrick.
However, Nuno is above the aforementioned name.
Following his appointment at City Ground, the former-Altihad boss who won the Saudi Arabian Professional League title before leaving just a few months later stabilized the ship, solidified the leaky backline of the forest, improved the vulnerability of the set piece, and gave the previous team a clear counterattack identity.
It was followed by a sensational 2024/2025, and Forest stood out as the major surprise package of last season. They were fairly rewarded by securing a place to return to European football for the first time in 30 years.
Nuno ultimately got the best from his players despite inheriting what was once a miserable situation. West Ham supporters hope he can replicate this feat south, and Nuno aims to end 2025 in a very test situation.
