AC Milan goalkeeper Mike Meignan wants to join Chelsea by telling the Serie A giants they won’t sign a new deal with them.
Maignan has been a standout ever since moving to an Italian club and establishing himself as one of the best goalkeepers in the world. Liverpool star Allison Becker has previously named him an “elite player.”
A big boost for Chelsea
Chelsea is now free to use Robert Sanchez, but Maignan is going to be a tremendous upgrade.
The French International has demonstrated his abilities in Italian costumes, and he is ready to take on a new challenge. He has informed the Italian club of his decision and it will be interesting to see if Chelsea can secure his agreement.
Mike Meignan wants Chelsea moves
According to Sky Sports’ Kaveh Solhekol, the player will become free agent next summer and he has decided not to extend his deal with the Italian club. They will be under pressure to sell him this summer. This is their last chance to secure a respectable fee for him.
This is a great opportunity for Chelsea and they need to make sure they snap him up at a reasonable price. They have qualified for the Champions League next season and need elite players to compete for key trophies. The French international was a huge addition to them and he was able to change them.
It remains to be seen whether Chelsea will come forward with an official proposal to sign players in the coming weeks. They are trying to properly improve their squad during the summer transfer period, and they are also keeping the tabs on Borussia’s Dortmund genius Jamie Gittens.
