Gautam Gambhir, head coach of the Indian National Cricket Team and Ajit Agarkar, chairman of the Indian Cricket Committee (BCCI) Selector, are all set to revolutionize Indian cricket by bringing in an Australian-style culture.
This new culture brings bad news to modern batting greats Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma who find themselves grasping themselves from the scheme of things at the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2027.
Gautam Gambhir, Ajit Agarkar brings Aussie culture to India
According to the latest PTI report, Gautam Gambhir and Ajit Agarkar have become two of the most powerful individuals in Indian cricket and have decided to bring a ruthless Australian-style culture to India.

But what exactly is the Aussie style culture? Essentially, we build a culture that is not open to favor based on the power of the stars, with all players being treated equally and performance being the main criterion of choice.
Gautam Gambhir and Ajit Agarkar have the same kind of idea that stars don’t make good teams, but good teams, according to reports, create stars. The duo also receives full support from very strong people in the Indian cricket ecosystem.
The duo took action after Indian horror ran in Test cricket against New Zealand and Australia. First, Rohit Sharma was fired as a test skipper, and then Virat Kohli was phased out from the format – perhaps at his own will.
This led to a new face lying down, and Shubmangill was the test captain. The Indian young team worked well without Kohli and Rohit Sharma in the British Test Series, quitting the 2-2 draw.
Ajit Agarkar, Gautam Gambhir are not keeping Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli in World Cup Plans
Additionally, Rohit Sharma was fired as ODI captain before his tour of Australia, with Shubman Gill taking his leadership. However, Rohit and Kohli have been named to the ODI team for their match against Australia.
Single-format players – Rohit and Kohli – may want to extend their ODI careers until the next ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup in 2027, but they may not receive support from the Select Committee and the Head Coach.
Ajit Agarkar and Gautam Gambhir feel that Rohit and Kohli do not belong to the plan of things for the 2027 World Cup. They also feel that the duo cannot maintain a top-level ODI form by playing some ODI and IPL games until 2027.
Third, all-format skipper Shubman Gill offers BCCI the opportunity to create a solid role model for the next decade. In particular, he is currently the Test and ODI captain and will take over as the T20I Skipper Post T20 World Cup 2026 regardless of the outcome of the competition.
The aforementioned confirmed that Rohit Sharma’s international cricket career was about to end sooner rather than slower. Talking about Virat Kohli, he is considered one of the most suitable cricketers, but finds himself in the same situation as Rohit Sharma.
However, his case is not as dark as it was when compared to Rohit’s. The selection committee believes there may still be “outside opportunities” to reach the 2027 World Cup.

Ajit Agarkar opens with Rohit Sharma’s looting
Speaking at the press conference, Ajit Agarkar was frankly saying he had a conversation with Rohit Sharma about his looting, and his words gave hints that the former Indian skipper wasn’t very happy.
“It’s a conversation between me and Rohit or us (the selector) and Rohit, but of course, as I said, it was communicated,” Agarkar said.
“We have to see from time to time what’s coming, that you need to stand as a team and see what ultimately benefits the team. Whether it’s now or six months from now, I think that’s what we have to do to put (the things) in order for us to (the things),” Agarkar added.
