Barcelona is reportedly investigating the possibility of signing Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford, but only this summer as they continue to search for reinforcements ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.
According to Talksport, athletic club Nico Williams still maintains the best target, but the Catalan giants are beginning to seriously consider Rashford as another offensive option.
Rashford itself will be very open. England International is believed to support a switch to Camp Nou and is willing to adapt the game to match manager Hanshiflic’s tactical setup.
Marcus Rashford is ready to adjust to his game
Rashford is reportedly operating in a more central role when necessary, giving Barcelona an additional option from the middle to ease the burden on Robert Lewandowski.
The 27-year-old endured a challenging season in 2024/25, falling out of favor under Man United boss Ruben Amorim.
Despite showing a flash of quality during his loan stint at Aston Villa, he managed some goals and assists, but Rashford’s long-term future at Old Trafford seems to be over now.
However, United is reportedly seeking transfer fees in the £40 million region for Rashford, complicating the potential loan arrangements.
La Liga Champions explores loan moves
Facing well-documented financial constraints, Barcelona is keen on loan agreements for purchase options, but it remains unclear whether United will sanction such terms.
A permanent transfer could provide much-needed funding for the Red Devils, but you may need to be flexible if you want to offload this window.
Whether Rashford arrives as a marquee addition or a stopgap solution, his potential signature not only gives the Laliga Giants another offensive option, but also allows him to start something big for players who can revive their careers with the Spanish champions.
Antony is also out this summer along with Rashford. Another winger that I linked to the Old Trafford exit this summer is Alejandro Garnacho.
