And Max was pitching in that game, so it’s kind of come full circle.”
“Now I get to know Max on a personal level and on a professional level. I mean, he’s had an incredible career. If you’ve ever spent time with him, I think he has a baseball mind. He’s nonstop. Nonstop. He’s always going back and forth, so there are definitely times when you have to step back from him. But no, I would feel the same way if I were playing someone else.”
Gausman had a solid year with the Blue Jays this postseason, posting a 2.00 ERA in four 18-inning appearances. He is scheduled to start Game 2 of the World Series against Yoshinobu Yamamoto in Toronto, and depending on the outcome of the 2021 season, there will definitely be a burden on his shoulders.
