Instead of trading with Derrick White, the Golden State Warriors could be a younger version.
The Boston Celtics sale had almost every player on the roster that moved almost every player on the roster. One of these was Derrick White, who was linked to the Warriors.
Golden State is probably missing out on it now, and the Celtics cut their pay at the exits of Christapsporzingis, Julou Holiday and Luke Cornet.
White could remain in Boston and Golden State could be a younger player compared to the Celtic Star.
The Golden State Warriors are defending trade interest from the Sacramento Kings who want to sign Jonathan Kuminga.
NBC Sports reports that the Kings’ offer to the Warriors includes Devin Carter, the first round pick in the 2024 NBA Draft.
Due to delayed injuries in the season, Carter only played 36 times a year as a rookie.
Carter was tasked with defending Stephen Curry and explained his experience in a post-match interview.
Monte McNair was the general manager of the Kings who chose Carter, then left the franchise and took on a new role with the LA Clippers.
However, after taking Carter, McNair expressed his love for him and told NBC:
“I think it shows up in the box’s score and some statistics. Basketball is about the ball. Devin gets the ball. Missing the shot, he goes.
Devin Carter’s NBA players comparison was Derrick White, as explained in the Prospects Guide on NBA.com.
“Given his number of shots, his explosiveness to defense, his ability to cause teams out of nowhere, he compared him to Derrick White.
“It’s no surprise that his career follows a similar trajectory, starting as a defensively oriented security guard and going his way to become an elite two-way player who can start on almost every team in the league.”
Carter’s dad is Anthony Carter, who works for the Memphis Grizzlies and previously played for the Heat, Timberwolves and Nuggets in the NBA.
The guard, just 23, will be an interesting player for the Warriors to acquire in trade, but the overall package must be worth giving up on Kuminga.
