The Golden State Warriors are not planning to send Jonathan Kuminga to one of their rivals.
The Golden State Warriors have been the quietest team ever in the offseason. So far, they are the only aspects that they will not make deals or sign free agents during this period.
Draymond Green told the Warriors how to build around Stephen Curry and Jimmy Butler. But Mike Dunleavy Jr. and the front office are not implementing any kind of plans.
In fact, the Warriors have actually lost players, with longtime veteran Kevon Rooney signing with the Pelican at a free agency.
The Warriors also have no decision on Jonathan Cuminga. The 22-year-old star is a restricted free agent.
Kuminga hinted at leaving the Warriors in pursuit of a bigger goal, but he has not attracted such attention from other teams. However, the warriors have made it clear that they do not promote movement to one team that has some interest,
The Golden State Warriors have become patient with Jonathan Kuminga’s limited freedom institutions. But according to Clutch Point’s Brett Siegel, they have already ruled out one path.
The Warriors appear to accept a sign-and-trade for Cuminga, but do not send the youngsters to the King of Sacramento.
“We didn’t have much momentum from our rival teams involved in signing Kuminga on our offer sheet this offseason.
“King Sacramento is known to have a strong interest in him, but his sign-and-trade conversation with the Warriors never gained traction.
“If Cuminga was traded, the Golden State would not like to not send him to the king, sources said.”
King Sacramento wants to land Cuminga, but is willing to destroy the bank for him. However, it appears that the chance to land him passed the king.
Siegel’s report added that the Golden State Warriors plan to meet with representatives of Jonathan Kuminga in the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas and proceed with the resolution.
He hopes both parties agree to a short-term deal that will allow Kuminga to maximize his value while continuing to play for the warrior.
“All signs continue to point towards a short-term reunion between Kuminga and the Warriors. Once Golden State coincides with Kuminga, they begin to round out their roster with experienced veterans who have endured this point at the Free Agency.
“When the Summer League begins on Thursday, Kuminga and his camp are expected to meet with Warriors officials and other teams in Las Vegas.
Many warned the Warriors to deal with the situation in Kuminga quickly. Ramona Shelburne even argued that Kuminga’s decision could ruin the Warriors’ offseason.
It’s hard to argue against her, given how things unfolded. Hopefully, both sides will soon reach an agreement. And the Warriors begin to focus on fleshing out their roster.
