The Los Angeles reportedly spent most of Thursday in great pursuit of All-Star outfielder Stephen Kwan from the Guardians in Cleveland.
The wanted to add another shock bat to the lineup that could replace left fielder Michael Comfort. But instead of buying another outfielder, they gave up James Outman for Minnesota twins Reliever Brock Stewart.

Simply put, the asking price for the Guardians Kwan was too high for the . It’s not reported that Cleveland wanted in Los Angeles, but they asked the San Diego Padres for their No. 1 overall outlook, Leo de Vries.
The Padres eventually traded other prospects for track and field in a package with other prospects for Mason Miller and starting pitcher JP Sears. San Diego wanted to avoid a de vries deal, but showed that when he didn’t include him in his left fielder’s offer to Jarrenduran to the Boston Red Sox.
But Miller and Sears were enough for the Padres to handle the de vries.

The Guardians may have requested rookie Catcher Dalton Rushing, the ‘ No. 1 overall prospect in 2024.
“I don’t see the world he moved anyway. I think he’s smart enough to understand that. I don’t think it will affect him. I’m not really.”
Los Angeles wasn’t making a huge hit with deadlines, but general manager Brandon Gomez is pleased with the team’s current roster.
Los Angeles has led the division and has earned stars like three-base player Max Muncie and starting pitcher Blake Snell.
Kwan would have been a solid addition to the lineup, but the organization was not willing to pay the price he ordered. And it appears the MLB team was willing to pay Kwan as the Guardians ultimately didn’t trade him at the deadline.
