Athletic Recently I wrote a very interesting article in which the data has been brought together anonymously from a considerable portion of current MLB players.
The goal was to find answers to some rather interesting questions. Players were asked which managers (except for themselves) around baseball and wanted to play most. Texas Rangers skipper Bruce Bocchy has won the most votes in this category. The other side of the spectrum was also considered here.
Former Colorado Rockies Bad Black and current manager of the St. Louis Cardinals, Olimar Mol won most of the votes as the skipper players didn’t want to play.

When asked about which franchises had a good reputation among fellow players, one Ballclub led the way – it wasn’t even close.
The in Los Angeles had a whopping 82 “good” responses of 126 respondents. The next team in the cross was the 40-man New York Yankees.
Several anonymous quotes clearly state why the are in professional baseball classes. That’s not surprising given the success of the franchise winning two World Series and winning just a handful of NL West Division titles over the past decade.
“You’ll win the World Series, get out and do what they did to add to it? That’s what professional sports should be like, not just baseball.”
“The take care of players and their families, but they’re also good on the player development side.”
“The stand out. Everyone wants to win. Everyone wants to get paid. You go there and that seems to happen.”
Success in the field is one thing. But building a culture to maintain success over time is another.
The entire organization is widely recognized for being extremely good for players. It’s a big reason why the were able to re-sign the best players and sign high-end free agents.
Los Angeles is taking care of its own (as we saw this offseason, it makes Dave Roberts the highest paying manager in the history of the sport). The team’s family vibe is often seen everywhere through the team’s social media platforms. Various families are seen almost weekly on the field, dumping their first pitch before the game begins.
By nurturing this environment with team resources, it doesn’t look like this franchise will be slower anytime soon.
