The Houston Rockets are firing on all cylinders during the offseason.
The Houston Rockets may have been the second seed at last season’s Western Conference, but they failed to impress them in playoff time.
After all, the Rockets went through a 4-3 first-round loss at the hands of the Golden State Warriors. As a result, it’s natural that Rockets will make many changes to the roster.
This summer, the front office is working to provide manager Ime Udoka with his talented roster for next season.
The Rockets’ summer didn’t make any noise except for the blockbuster trade to acquire Kevin Durant from the Phoenix Suns.
The arrival of Durant is bustling with H-Town as young stars like Alperen Sengun share the court with the slim Shinigami.
However, the addition of KD is just the tip of the iceberg. Because there are all the additions that Rocket was made to the roster before the 2025-26 NBA season.
- Kevin Durant (trading from Phoenix Suns)
- Clint Capella (signed a 3-year contract)
- Dorian Finney Smith (signed four-year contract)
- JD Davidson (signed one-year contract)
- Josh Okogee (signs one-year contract)
- Stephen Adams (re-signed 3-year contract)
- Jabari Smith Jr. (re-signed 5-year contract)
- Fred Vanvrit (re-signed 2-year contract)
- Aaron Holiday (re-signing private transactions)
- Jeff Green (resigns private transactions)
- Jae’sean Tate (re-signing private transactions)
Well, that’s a big summer for the rocket. The organization not only added new stars to its team, but also re-signed major veterans such as Stephen Adams and Fred Van Vleet.
Combine that with the presence of upcoming stars like Sengung and Amen Thompson. Rocket is definitely the top candidate to win next season.

Given the number of additional Rocket added to the roster, it’s logical that the franchise broke up with a few players.
The biggest starting point was Jalen Green, who was included in the big Hugh Durant trade, featuring seven NBA teams.
A major change recently has been that Fred Vanvriet tore his ACL and keeps the Rockets shorter into the key area.
That being said, ahead of the 2025-26 season, there will be all the departures from the Rocket roster.
- Jalen Green (Deals with Phoenix Suns)
- Dillon Brooks (trading with the Phoenix Suns)
- Fritidante (trading to act)
- Cam Whitmore (Deals with Washington Wizards)
- Jocklandale (exemption)
With so many changes, fans will see a very different rocket launching the lineup during the 2025-26 NBA season. But is it enough to end the team’s championship drought? Only time can be seen.
