The important Mark Marquez attribute is compared to Valentino Rossi.
Marquez took the 2025 MotoGP season by storm after winning both sprints and both Grand Prix so far.
He adapted seamlessly to the factory Ducati machinery to leave all his rivals behind, including teammate Francesco Bagnaia.
Marquez’s important skills – preventing Bagnaia from benefiting from his data – are gaining attention.
“Jorge Martin has always accused Pecco of copying homework and copying his settings to his bike,” said Neil Hodgson of TNT Sports.
“But Mark rides in such a unique way that he can’t copy him.”
Michael Laberty agreed:
“He pivots the bike, it’s the position of the body, the rear brake, the confidence to keep the gas open and spinning.
“Looking back at Mark’s career, people didn’t realize how good he was. People thought the power of the HRC had taken him to those titles, but Mark made them exist.
“Now he’s got his own best bike at his own freedom. It’s easy. He has that kind of control over his GP25.”
Marquez’s brilliance is fully exhibited in Thailand and Argentina. Because Bagnaia had that equal experience with machinery and was unable to approach him.
“I don’t care if I like Mark or not,” Susie Perry insisted. “We have to be grateful that he is a motorcycle genius.
“He redefines racing at MotoGP.”

“To see him now, it’s not Marquez from 10 years ago. He looks very different on the bike,” Laverty said.
“It’s about talking to Rossi, the chameleon, and being able to change your style and take it out of the bike.
“In 2024, we needed a lot of marks to adapt to the Ducati way, slowing it down with the entry, running through corners, using grips to get more calm and settling down without losing the front.
“He looks like another rider. You need some change in your autopilot to redefine your riding style. He still rides hard, but that’s not as much as Honda.”
Hodgson said:
Rossi quickly adapted from the title-winning Honda to Yamaha, which won the Yamaha in his first attempt in 2004.
Another MotoGP title this season is increasingly likely after just two rounds, with Marquez becoming equal with his great rival Rossi.
If Marquez can turn his big start into domination, they each have nine championships.
The third round of the season is on the American circuit, one of his favourite tracks that gets turned over for him to be superior again.
Annoyed for Rossi, Marquez is denial of Bagnaia (a graduate of the VR46 Academy) while approaching the tally of doctors.
