The LA Clippers have made a lot of noise this offseason, but one of their quiet pickups will be the most notable attraction next season.
The LA Clippers looked at the roster at the end of the 2024-25 NBA season and knew they had to make some major changes.
When free agency began, the Clippers quickly snapped Brook Lopez. And to his surprise, the Clippers traded Norman Powell and landed John Collins on a three-team contract.
For their luck, the Clippers were able to sign Bradley Beal after agreeing to a deal with the Phoenix Suns.
And with Chris Paul returning to the Clippers, they really have a full roster. They are looking to challenge heavy batters at the Western Conference next season.
One of the more interesting Clippers’ picks this season was John Collins’ picks. The former Utah Jazz power forward was once considered one of the brightest prospects in the NBA.
But playing for a struggling team like the Jazz, his numbers fell. In his first season with the Jazz, he averaged only 15.1 points per game.
However, last season he returned to form. Collins averaged 19.0 points per game, the best he had since the 2020-21 season averaged 21.6 points per game.
With the Clippers, Collins is not the focus of the offensive. However, using a distributor like James Harden will give him plenty of opportunity in the post to finish off the attack.
Additionally, as a powerful offensive rebounder, Collins also has the opportunity to clean up the bucket of second chances.
The LA Clippers don’t just need a good campaign to redeem the Championship window. But because they make headlines for all the wrong reasons.
Two weeks ago, Pablo Torre revealed evidence that the LA Clippers used energy company Suction to avoid pay caps.
The Clippers are currently working with the NBA investigation, but if they are found guilty, they could face serious penalties.
What is a better way to keep fans from surrendering than performing at the highest level in court every night?
