After a tough spell at Manchester United, Brazil’s Antony Winger lends out his groove at Real Betis.
Since the January move, he has been a game-changer, earning four goals and four assists in 13 games.
His contributions were key to Betis’ impressive seven-game unbeaten streak. This includes a victory over Real Madrid and a draw against Barcelona.
Given his amazing performance, it’s no surprise that Betis wants to keep him longer.
According to journalist Chris Wheeler, X:
“Real Betis says they will do everything to keep Antony up when the Man UTD Winger loan closes in June.”
However, the Spanish club may face some hurdles to keep Antony in the club.
Antony’s large £200,000 salary is a key issue for Betis and does not match the substantial transfer fees that Man United may require.
The ideal scenario for Betis is to extend the loan for another season, but that may not match Man United’s plans.
Antony has no future for Man United
Antony’s revival at Betis is a classic example of how changes in the environment can rekindle the shape of a player.
The Brazilian was called the Flop in the Premier League, but in the La Liga he found the form in which he achieved the Ajax success.
The Red Devils are willing to make money from it as they sell unnecessary players and try to raise money for the transfer business through the sale of players.
Betis is looking for another loan deal for the former Ajax man, but that wouldn’t fit the side of Reuben Amorim.
Former United manager Eric Ten Hag had previously described Antony as “unstopping.”
Man United will need to sort out their finances if they want to sign top striker Target Liam Dellup from Ipswichtown.
Amorim is keen to sign new strikers and new midfielders this summer.
