The Los Angeles have been forced to be extremely creative with their pitching roster this season.
Dustin May has even come this season that he has not pitched since the start of the campaign in 2023 and has even overcome a life-threatening freak accident that was ready to almost begin his rehabilitation allocation last year.
His total ERA is currently 4.96, the highest at any point in the six MLB seasons, so unfortunately the 27-year-old is heading south at 27.

There was a chat about his recent struggle, namely, his final six starts, when the ERA was in a 6.61 ERA, moving right-handed people into the bullpen for the first time since 2020.
The current plan isn’t necessarily a permanent move, but it could ease the shoe hei ohtani on Monday night as three MVPs are expected to pitch two to three innings. Manager Dave Roberts spoke about the shift for his pitcher.
“Dustin has done it before so it’s not going to be such a big deal for him,” Roberts said.
Skipper also spoke about the increased workload in May, particularly in the wake of his injuries, and how the role of the intermediate rescuer is better for both parties, perhaps in the long run.
In May, 17 starts will be a total of 94.1 innings of work, second only to Yoshinobu Yamamoto’s 19 start and 104.1 innings. His pitches in both the total start and innings are career-high with a big margin at 27 years old.
“Yeah, I mean, we’re already eclipsing where we would have expected at this point,” Roberts said. “So, to reduce it, save — whatever way you want it to frame — here, Dustin should have benefits too.”
With May approaching the mound, regardless of whether he starts the game or jogs out of the bullpen, right-handers will need to go back to a more effective place and work to lower their ERA later in the season.
