The Minnesota Timber Wolves star player praised Anthony Edwards’ leadership after the team won a fantastic Game 1 victory against the La Lakers.
Anthony Edwards made a ridiculous departure early on, so he started playing a game that didn’t look good, but made sure he settled down with 22 points, 8 rebounds and nine assists in the evening.
He had the second best +/- in the Minnesota Timber Wolves lineup and felt his presence on both ends of the floor.
Jaden McDaniels and Naz Reid stepped up to their team as they added 25 and 23 points respectively to win a 117-95 victory in Game 1 of the NBA playoffs against the LA Lakers.
After the game, Reid gave teammate Edwards a great achievement for being an outstanding leader.
Edwards is considered one of the most exciting talents in the NBA and often grows up in conversation to become the next face in the league.
Since his arrival, T-Wolves has been a different franchise, and Reid believes that’s because Edwards wants to do well with his teammates.
Speaking about Superstar Guard, Reid said:
“He wants to win, you can tell, he wants to do well with his teammates as well, so I think he’s a teammate who just has my hands and the young people and so on.
Lakers legendary Magic Johnson admitted he was worried about the Lakers because of Edwards’ presence.
The 23-year-old showed exactly why he packed the stat sheets to help the Timberwolves get a win in Game 1.
Edwards knew his shots weren’t falling efficiently, so he decided to become a facilitator and managed to plate nine dimes in the game.
He did that by acknowledging the single sales that came at the beginning of the first quarter.
The Timberwolves had 29 assists in the game and scored 44 field goals, but the Lakers only had 15 with 33 field goals.
This shows that Chris Finch’s men weren’t trying to do a typical isolated ball just tossed everything to Edwards.
There’s still a lot of basketball left in the series, and the Lakers will be much better in the upcoming games as Edwards could continue to perform stellarly and lead them to the next round.
