Detroit pistons are re-emerging as serious threats to the east, and it’s going to be better just by Cade Cunningham at the helm.
The Detroit Pistons are off the best season of years. After six years of drought, the Pistons reached the playoffs, but only went out in their first round with the New York Knicks.
Kade Cunningham was a sensation in the playoffs, but the Pistons realized they weren’t enough to compete with the Knicks.
As a result, they focused on improving the roster. In the aftermath of Malik Beasley’s controversy, the Pistons pivoted Duncan Robinson and signed.
But for all the new additions to their roster, Pistons head coach JB Bickerstaff relies heavily on Cade Cunningham to lead the team.
Cade Cunningham was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft. The hype surrounding him when he entered the league was very high.
And last season, Cunningham really began to live up to expectations. He averaged 26.1 points, 9.1 assists and 6.1 rebounds.
He maintained a similar level in the playoffs, averaging 25.0 points, 8.7 assists and 8.3 rebounds against the New York Knicks.
He has the experience behind him and has been successful in the NBA, so we expect Cunningham to be next season.
And Cunningham can average double-double next season, as the Pistons trust him to perform an offense.
The Detroit Pistons look like a scary side to the East as Cade Cunningham is trying to elevate his game even further.
The Pistons have a strong roster for next season, which will benefit from the weakened state of the Eastern Conference.
The Knicks and Cavaliers will be the top teams in the Eastern Conference. But the pistons will feel confident about their chances against them.
Given the tough fight, the Pistons gave the Knicks in the playoffs, they have all the reasons to be confident in the East.
