The Los Angeles claimed they exempt New York Yankees right-handed pitcher Yondris Gomez, the team announced.
Gomez, 25, was designated for an assignment from the Yankees earlier this week.

Gomez has a 2.70 ERA in six appearances this season. He pitched 10 innings for the Yankees, allowing three runes to be acquired with five hits and nine walks. He hit five.
Gomez is a four-pitch pitcher and mainly uses his four-seam fastball. He also mixes the sweeper with curveballs, minimizing changeups. He stopped using the slider this year.
Gomez will soon be added to the ‘ 40-man roster. The official roster page on MLB.com lists him as minors. That means he could start with Triple A Oklahoma City.
Gomez made his MLB debut in 2023, taking a scoreless outing for two innings. He then made five appearances in 2024, allowing five runs in 11.1 innings with a 3.97 ERA.
Overall, over 12 career appearances, Gomez pitched a 3.09 ERA, over 23.1 innings.
